HoustonChronLast week, Twitter introduced Vine, a mobile service that allows Twitter users to capture and share short looping videos of up to 6 seconds.Since the launch, Vine has been plagued with porn. But Twitter is now blocking many searches for pornographic terms, reports The Verve: Trying to search for the #porn hashtag (and other terms such as #sex and #booty) brings up no results at this time. However, there are still numerous workarounds — #pornvine is still allowed, for example, as is #nsfw.

Look, just give it up Twitter. The internet is for porn. Al Gore can tell you whatever he wants but the internet was founded on porn and cats. Don’t fight it. This is a natural thing. You’re just gonna make people come up with crazy, nasty search terms if you start blocking searches. Go ahead and block #pornvine and #nsfw. See what happens. Let’s start getting really specific with hashtags. You really want #deepthroat to start trending? How about #rustytrombone…. #dirtysanchez, #angrypirate. Gonna block A-Z on urban dictionary? Just let it go Twitter. Stop pretending to be morally righteous when your whole business is to see who can spout the best finger vomit in 140 characters or less.
