Barney Creator’s Son Arrested For Attempted Murder

February 6, 2013

HuffThe son of the creator of the PBS children’s series “Barney & Friends” has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The Acorn, a news service that covers the California neighborhoods of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Oak Park and Westlake Village, reported that Patrick Leach had been arrested for attempted murder on Jan. 9. After getting a call that gunshots were heard around 9:30 a.m. in a Malibu neighborhood, police found a 49-year-old with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. The alleged shooter, who had left in a black SUV, was later caught in Agoura Hills and arrested for attempted murder. Leach is being held on $500,000 bail. TMZ first reported that Leach is the 27-year-old son of “Barney & Friends” creator Sheryl Leach. The attempted murder is believed to have been the result of a “neighbor dispute,” according to City News Service via L.A. Weekly. The victim was taken to UCLA Medical Center and is expected to survive. Sheryl Leach has worked on the “Barney” series since it first aired in the ’90s. She is credited with having worked as a producer on the 2012 video, “Barney: Clean Up, Clean Up!,” on IMDb.

If you had to grow up hearing that song everyday you’d go on a murderous rampage too! Oh wait, everybody had to listen to that brainwashing bullshit. You know those kids who got teased for watching Barney till they were like 12? Having to hear the Cleanup song and the I Love You song on a daily basis…  This guy has probably had to listen to it everyday since that show started. That shit would push anybody over the edge. Your honor, this man is innocent on the grounds of insanity.

PS: I always preferred the cool kid rendition to the I Love You song:

I hate you,
You hate me
Let's be friends and kill Barney
With a shotgun *BANG BANG*
Barney on the floor
No more purple dinosaur
